Dr Israt Zerin Eva is an Associate Professor of Medicine. Got her MBBS and an FCPS in Medicine. Since she is an associate professor, she probably spends her mornings teaching medical students. Walking through the hospital wards with a bunch of trainees. Then she comes to her private chamber in the evening. The waiting room is usually full of people with regular problems. High blood pressure. Viral fevers. Gastric pain. She sits at her desk. Has a standard blood pressure machine next to her. The manual one with the rubber pump. People walk in carrying plastic files full of old test reports. She just asks them to sit down. Asks what the problem is.

Patients usually complain about feeling weak or having headaches. Happens a lot anyway. She wraps the BP cuff around their arm. You can hear the velcro rip. Pumps it up and listens with her stethoscope. Looks at their old prescriptions. Sometimes people take too many gastric pills. She tells them to stop doing that. Maybe eat less rice if their sugar is high. Writes down some basic blood tests if they need them. CBC or fasting sugar. Handwriting is quick. Just scribbles the medicine names. Tells them to take the pills after meals. Hands the paper over. No long lectures about health. Just the facts. Then the assistant calls the next serial. She just grabs the BP cuff again.
