Brig. Gen. (Retd.) Professor Dr. Md. Tanvirul Islam is a General and Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgeon with a long background in both military and civilian medical service. He completed MBBS and FCPS in Surgery, followed by a Fellowship in Colorectal Surgery from National University Hospital, Singapore. He also received post-fellowship training in Colorectal Cancer at Tata Medical Centre, Kolkata. He is Professor and Head of the Department of Surgery at Universal Medical College Hospital, Dhaka.
