They always say yes. Liver problems make you tired anyway. He tells them to stop eating heavy food. No more beef. They just look at the floor. Probably going to eat it anyway.

He tells them to lie down on the examination bed. The paper sheet crinkles. He presses his fingers under their right ribs. Checking if the liver is hard. Sometimes he taps on their stomach to check for fluid. Sounds like a dull drum. He writes down some antivirals for the hepatitis guys. Small bottles of pills. Tells them to take it every day. Do not miss a dose. It takes months. He does not promise a quick fix. Livers heal slow. Or they do not heal at all. He stamps the prescription pad. The ink is probably blue. Hands it over.
