About Dr. Farzana Chy

Dr. Farzana Chy works as Associate Professor in Gynae and Obs at Chittagong International Medical College Hospital. She did her MBBS from CMC back in 2005. Then MCPS in 2013 and FCPS in 2015. She started as registrar in 2015, became assistant professor a few years later, and now holds the associate professor post since end of 2024. The gyne OPD at CIMCH looks the same most days. Women sitting on those hard benches with papers in their laps. Some fan themselves with old reports. Kids get restless after a while. Dr. Farzana sees the regular cases. Pregnancy checkups, deliveries, infections, bleeding problems. She does ward rounds too. The room has the usual things. Old ultrasound machine in the corner. Exam table with the worn cover. Metal tray holding gloves and instruments. Fans spin but it still feels warm by afternoon. Patients come from Chittagong areas and villages nearby. Many bring their mothers or husbands. She talks to them straight. Shows the scan and explains what it means. No big rush on slower days. She has been in the same hospital for years. That shows when handling the daily flow. From registrar time till now. Not every patient has something serious. Plenty are just follow-ups and medicine repeats. Corridors stay noisy with people walking and calling names. Relatives stand outside the door asking small questions. She also teaches the junior doctors a bit in between.
