Dr. Imtiaz Uddin Ahmed

Dr. Imtiaz Uddin Ahmed is a Consultant in the Cardiology department. He has an MBBS and got his D-Card from Dhaka University. Getting that D-Card means he had to do a lot of ward duty in government hospitals before sitting in a consultant chair. He mostly sees adult patients who show up at the reception with high blood pressure or breathing trouble. A lot of them are just regular walk-ins who got worried after feeling some chest pain at home. He reads their history, checks their weight, and looks at the blood tests they brought in those plastic folders. It gets busy on that floor. He just tries to keep the line moving.

Patients usually bring two or three relatives into the room with them. It gets crowded. He spends time explaining things to the family, since they are the ones buying the medicine from the pharmacy downstairs anyway. He looks at the ECG and decides if they need a hospital bed or just some new cholesterol pills. He skips ordering new tests if the old ones from last month are fine. Saves them some money. Just updates the dosage on the prescription pad. Then he finishes his patient list and goes home.
