Dr. Md. Rashidul Hasan looks at heads. Assistant professor of neurosurgery. MBBS and MS. People bring in these huge CT scan films. He holds them up to the light. Looking for bleeds inside the skull. Or tumors pressing on nerves. He probably sits in a chair that leans back too far. Patients come in with bad back pain too. Slipped discs. They walk in slow. Holding their lower back. He just asks them to lift their leg straight up. Checking the nerve pain. He writes down some strong painkillers. Tells them to sleep on a hard mattress. They probably ignore that part anyway.

Brain surgery takes forever. He stands in the OT for six hours plus. The nurses have to shave the patient's head first. Just patches of hair falling on the floor. He uses a loud drill to get through the skull. Sounds like a construction site. Smells like burnt bone. He wears those magnifying glasses. Loupes. Just picking away at a blood clot with tiny metal forceps. Sort of tedious work. The medical students try to watch but they cannot see much. Just a small hole in the bone. He finishes up. Screws a small titanium plate over the hole. Takes off his gloves. His hands probably cramp a bit. He goes to sit down.
