Dr Md Saiduzzaman Munna is a neuromedicine consultant. Works at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. Got his MBBS and BCS Health. Plus an MD in Neurology. That means he is a government doctor. Morning shift is usually at the hospital ward. Neurology wards are pretty heavy. Lots of stroke patients. People who cannot move one side of their body. He does his rounds. Checks reflexes with a small rubber hammer. Taps the knees. Scrapes the bottom of the foot with a key or a pen. Just basic nerve tests. Then he sits in his private chamber later. Desk usually has a stack of MRI films and a tuning fork. People waiting outside with headaches.

Patients come in complaining about migraines. Or nerve pain in their legs. They bring these big brown envelopes with brain scans. He pulls the film out. Holds it up to the light. Looks for blood clots or whatever. Sort of a quiet process. He asks them to squeeze his fingers. Checks their grip strength. Tells the family it will take time. Nerve damage heals slow anyway. Probably months of physiotherapy. Writes down some nerve vitamins and blood thinners. Handwriting is just a quick scribble. Tells them to control their blood pressure. Hands the prescription to the son or daughter. Then the assistant calls the next serial. He just keeps checking reflexes.
