He sits in a room that is mostly quiet until he turns on the suction machine. It makes a loud rattling noise. People come in with blocked ears. Lots of fungus during the rainy season. He uses a long metal tube attached to the suction. Just vacuums the wax out. Patients usually flinch because it is loud inside their head. He tells them to stay still. Sort of mumbles it. Drops the dirty cotton swabs in a yellow plastic bin. Sometimes it is a sore throat. He presses their tongue down with a wooden stick. Shines the light. Tells them to stop drinking cold water. They probably drink it anyway. He writes down some antihistamines. Small round pills.

If they need a small surgery he probably checks their blood sugar first. Because of that CCD degree. Makes sense. He writes the lab tests on a slip of paper. The desk has a few metal tools soaking in a steel bowl of blue liquid. He takes off the headlamp. Rubs his forehead where the strap left a red mark. Hands the prescription over. That is about it.
