Women complaining about gaining weight or feeling tired all the time. He feels their neck. Tells them to swallow. Just checking for lumps. He writes prescriptions for small white pills. Tells them to take it empty stomach. They always forget. He probably has to explain it three times. The waiting room outside his door is usually packed by 11 AM. People holding those little black zipper bags for their glucometers. He does not do surgeries. No blood. No OT scrubs. Just sitting in his chair. Looking at numbers. Telling people to walk thirty minutes a day. They probably will not do it. He stamps the paper. Hands it back.
