Dr. Rehana Arjuman Hye

Dr. Rehena Akter has spent many years caring for women at different stages of life. Some visit for a routine check-up. Others come because of irregular periods, pregnancy concerns, infertility, or long-standing gynecological problems. She completed her MBBS before earning the FCPS in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She also studied public health with an MPH in Epidemiology and received additional training in diabetes care through BIRDEM. Later, she completed special training in infertility at BSMMU and attended advanced clinical training in Singapore. Different places. Different experiences. They all added something to the way she treats patients.

Her work includes pregnancy care, infertility assessment, menstrual disorders, ovarian conditions, family planning, hysteroscopy, and gynecological surgery. Emergency cases are also part of her routine, so every clinic day does not follow the same pattern. Some women arrive with questions they have been avoiding for months. Others come with ultrasound reports folded inside a handbag and simply want to know what they mean. That is a familiar scene in gynecology clinics across Bangladesh. She also teaches future doctors, which probably explains why she takes time to discuss treatment options instead of rushing through the appointment. Not every patient needs surgery. Sometimes medicine, regular follow-up, or a small lifestyle change is enough. It depends on the condition. The conversations are usually calm, practical, and focused on what should happen next rather than making things sound more complicated than they are.
