Dr. Sadia Afrin Mony is a Paediatrician, Neonatologist, Paediatric Intensivist, and Paediatric Cardiac Critical Care Specialist with extensive expertise in the management of critically ill neonates, infants, and children. Her clinical practice spans the full spectrum of paediatric care from routine newborn and childhood health concerns to the most complex and life-threatening conditions requiring advanced intensive care support.
She currently serves as Associate Consultant in Paediatrics & Neonatology and Head of the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Apollo Imperial Hospital, Chattogram, Bangladesh. In this role, she leads a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing state-of-the-art critical care services and has played a pivotal role in the development and expansion of a modern Level IV Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, bringing advanced paediatric critical care capabilities closer to children and families in the region.
Dr. Mony has substantial experience managing critically ill children with severe respiratory failure, septic shock, congenital and acquired heart disease, neurological emergencies, multi-organ dysfunction syndrome, acute kidney injury, complex infections, and post-operative cardiac surgical conditions. Her expertise extends to neonatal intensive care, where she provides specialized management for premature infants, critically ill newborns, and high-risk neonatal conditions.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Mony is actively involved in medical education, research, and professional development. She is passionate about advancing paediatric critical care services in Bangladesh and regularly contributes to teaching initiatives for physicians, nurses, trainees, and healthcare professionals. Her academic interests include paediatric critical care, congenital heart disease, respiratory support strategies, breastfeeding medicine, and neonatal care.

After completing her MBBS in and FCPS in Paediatrics, Dr. Mony pursued an intensive Clinical Fellowship in Paediatric Critical Care and Paediatric Cardiac Critical Care at the prestigious Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Kochi, India—one of South Asia’s leading tertiary care and academic institutions. During her fellowship, she received comprehensive training in advanced respiratory support, haemodynamic monitoring, paediatric cardiac intensive care, extracorporeal therapies, and the management of critically ill children with complex medical and surgical conditions.
