Dr. Shamima Akhter

Dr. Shamima Akhter is an Associate Professor at Chittagong International Medical College and Hospital. She has MBBS and MS in Gynae and Obs. She looks after gynecology and obstetrics patients. The gyne department at CIMCH gets packed by 8-9 in the morning. Women sit on the wooden benches outside. Some carry big files. Others have their mothers or husbands waiting with them. Dr. Shamima sees a mix of cases. Pregnancy follow-ups, deliveries, menstrual issues, and other women’s problems. She does ward rounds and handles surgeries when needed. She speaks plainly with patients. Shows them the reports and tells what to do next. Many come from Chittagong city parts and villages around. The rooms feel familiar.
