Dr. Ummey Nazmin Islam

Dr. Ummey Nazmin Islam works with women facing a wide range of reproductive health concerns. Some couples meet her after trying to conceive for a long time without success. Others visit because of hormonal changes, irregular menstrual cycles, pelvic pain, or questions during pregnancy. She completed her MBBS at Dhaka Medical College, entered the government health service through BCS (Health), and later earned the FCPS in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She also completed another FCPS in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. That extra training is focused on fertility, hormones, and the medical conditions that can affect both.

Along with infertility care, she performs laparoscopic gynecological procedures and treats many common gynecological conditions. Some patients need surgery. Quite a few do not. Blood tests, ultrasound findings, and medical history often guide the next step. Every situation is a little different. She also teaches doctors in postgraduate training, so explaining medical topics has become part of her everyday work. Clinic hours can be busy, especially with women arriving from outside Dhaka carrying previous prescriptions and investigation reports collected from different places. Many simply want clear advice before deciding on treatment. She seems to keep those conversations practical instead of making them sound complicated.
