Prof. Dr. Md. Shahadat Hossain

Prof. Dr. Md. Shahadat Hossain has a lot of degrees. MBBS, DDV, FCPS. Even an FRCP. That means he has been looking at skin for a long time. He is a professor now. His room probably smells like sulfur ointment and hand sanitizer. People come in with rashes that will not go away. Or weird spots on their arms. The weather here makes everyone sweat. Lots of fungal stuff. He just sits behind his desk. Puts on his reading glasses. Maybe uses a small magnifying glass with a plastic handle. He looks at the dry skin. Asks how long it has been itching. They usually say a few months. He just nods. Writes down a cream.

He sees a lot of teenagers too. Acne problems. Parents bring them in because of the marks on their cheeks. He just tells them to wash their face with plain soap. Stop picking at it. They probably pick at it anyway. He writes prescriptions for small tubes of gel. Tells them to use a pea sized amount at night. Just basic instructions. He teaches the medical students in the ward. Showing them the difference between eczema and psoriasis. Just red patches on the skin. Hard to tell sometimes I think. He probably points at the lesions with the back of his pen. He finishes the clinic list. Stamps the paper. Hands it over.
