Professor Dr. A. H. M. Abdur Rouf

Professor Dr. A.H.M. Abdur Rouf is an Orthopaedic Surgeon with more than 25 years of experience. His qualifications include MBBS, BCS (Health), MPH, and D-Ortho (DU). He previously worked as Professor and Head of the Orthopaedic Surgery Department at Jessore Medical College Hospital. He is now retired from government service.

His training includes paediatric orthopaedics from Pune, India. He also received basic and advanced AO training for trauma surgery. His work includes minimally invasive surgery, joint replacement, and complex trauma cases. Clubfoot treatment is another area connected with his professional work. He received a certificate of appreciation from Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital for Ponseti technique-based clubfoot management.

Dr. Rouf has been involved with the SIGN Project at Jashore Medical College since 2012. He has also worked as a medical advisor for Walk for Life Bangladesh. There are publications under his name. These details give a fair idea of how broad his orthopedic work has been.

He is a life member of the Bangladesh Orthopaedic Society and Bangladesh Society of Hand Surgeons. He has also been involved with BMA Jashore. After retiring from the medical college hospital, he has been working full-time at Pongu Hospital Jashore. His focus remains orthopedic and trauma surgery.
