Professor Dr. Fazlur Rahman

Prof. Dr. Fazlur Rahman is a Clinical and Interventional Cardiologist with more than 30 years of experience in cardiology. He completed MBBS in Dhaka, followed by MCPS in Medicine and D-Card from Dhaka University. He later earned an MD in Cardiology. His professional qualifications also include FRCP from the UK and FACC from the USA. He received further training in interventional cardiology in the USA, India and Switzerland. His work includes coronary angiography, angioplasty, peripheral interventions and pacemaker implantation. More than 15,000 coronary angiograms and over 3,000 angioplasties are part of his professional record. Those numbers give an idea of how much procedural work he has handled over the years.

Prof. Dr. Fazlur Rahman has also been involved in teaching and academic cardiology at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital. He has worked with patients who need diagnostic cardiac assessment as well as those requiring intervention. Coronary artery problems can sometimes need angiography before doctors decide on angioplasty or another treatment. Pacemaker cases are different again and require device related assessment. His experience also includes peripheral vascular interventions and care for complicated cardiac cases.
