People in Chittagong like heavy food. Beef. Sweets. It is hard to change that. She just tries to give them basic rules. Eat more vegetables. Stop putting extra sugar in the red tea. They probably listen while they are in the room. Then go home and eat the same stuff anyway. She is a trained therapeutic dietician. So she calculates the exact calories they need. Just writing numbers on the margins of the chart. She tells them to walk for thirty minutes every evening. They say their knees hurt. She just tells them to walk slower then. She hands over the printed paper. The ink is maybe a bit faded from the hospital printer. She calls the next patient in.
