Dr. M A Hasnat

Dr. Mohammad Abul Hasnat is a Clinical and Interventional Cardiologist with MBBS, FCPS in Medicine and MD in Cardiology. He completed his MBBS from Sylhet M A G Osmani Medical College, then earned FCPS in Medicine from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons and MD in Cardiology from Dhaka University. He serves as Associate Professor of Cardiology at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) and also works as a Visiting Consultant at Universal Medical College & Hospital in Mohakhali, Dhaka. His clinical work includes coronary angiography, PCI, permanent pacemaker implantation and PTMC. More than 1,000 angiographies and over 400 PCI procedures are part of his experience. Some were routine cases. Others involved complex or primary PCI.

Dr. Hasnat has also performed more than 50 permanent pacemaker implantations and over 100 PTMC procedures. These are different types of cardiac work, so each requires its own assessment and preparation. A patient with a blocked coronary artery may need angiography before doctors decide whether PCI is suitable. Someone with certain valve problems may be considered for PTMC. He has published research in national and international medical journals as well. His professional memberships include the Bangladesh Cardiac Society and Bangladesh Society of Cardiac Intervention, where he is a life member.
