It is a big public hospital and teaching place where lots of patients come every day from all over Bangladesh. The area around Shahbagh stays busy with traffic and rickshaws. By morning the waiting zones fill up fast. People sit on benches or stand along the corridors with their old files and reports. Some mothers hold sick children, others look tired after long travel.
They run 24/7 emergency services, OPD for regular checkups, inpatient wards, cabins, operation theaters, pharmacy, ambulance, and maternity care. Doctors see all kinds of cases from common fever to serious conditions. The place has that usual hospital smell of medicine and disinfectant. Corridors stay noisy with footsteps, names being called, and relatives waiting outside. Fans run but it still feels crowded and warm most days. Not every visit is smooth. Long waits happen. Yet many people come here because it is a known name for specialized treatment. Indoor and outdoor facilities keep running. Just regular big hospital life in Dhaka with patients coming and going from morning till night.
