RGC Superspecialty Eye Hospital. Just eyes. Nothing else. It sits on Panthapath. 57/E. East side of BRB Hospital. Finding the building is easy. Finding parking is probably a nightmare. Air conditioning feels nice after the street heat. People rubbing their eyes. Squinting at forms. Reception hands you a paper clipboard. The pen is tied to a piece of string. Sort of dirty. The security guy just points to the elevators.
They have their own diagnostic center inside. Good thing. You get your vision checked. Walk ten steps. Get the scan done. No running across Dhaka with blurry vision. They say they have all kinds of eye facilities. Cataract surgery. Lasik. Retina checks. Probably. The waiting area has those plastic chairs. A tray of eye drops on the counter. Tiny bottles. Patients walking out with dilated pupils. Holding dark sunglasses. Stumbling a bit. The vision chart on the wall has a smudge on the second line. The doctor shines a bright light. Looks at your retina. Writes something. You go downstairs to pay. That is it.
