Professor Dr. Amal Kumar Chowdhury

Prof. Dr. Amal Kumar Choudhury is a Clinical and Interventional Cardiologist with MBBS, FCPS in Medicine and MD in Cardiology. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and holds FSCAI from the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions in the USA. He serves as Professor of Cardiology at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases & Hospital (NICVD), Dhaka. His clinical work covers coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmia, hypertension and valvular heart disease. Congenital heart conditions are also within his field. A patient with chest pain may need an ECG and other tests before the cause is clear. Someone with an irregular heartbeat may need rhythm monitoring instead. Different complaints can point to very different cardiac problems.

Dr. Amal Kumar Choudhury also works with interventional cardiac procedures, particularly cases where medication alone may not be enough.
